Defining Racism, Bias, & Fragility

Date: September 15th, 2020 from 6:00-7:30pm/est

Bias is a human and natural; our goal isn’t to eliminate it, rather we must recognize it when and where it exists in order to overcome. Racism is one of the most talked about discriminatory practices in today’s society. Join this talk to discuss difficult topics and learn how to navigate through some of the discomfort associated with defensiveness and stigma.

Micro- vs. Macro-Aggressions:

Date: November 17th, 2020 from 6:00-7:30pm/est

Microagressions are individually elicited comments/actions toward an identity group. Macroaggressions are systemic policies and procedures that discriminate against particular identity groups. Join this talk to learn about the different types of aggressions and have open conversation around the meaning behind many of the statements we hear and see in today’s society.

White Privilege
